About: Located on the outskirts of the Pink City of India Jaipur, this luxury hotel has 126 rooms & suites. On our arrival, we were welcomed with a traditional melodious ‘Rajasthani’ folk song sung by an artist also dressed in traditional ‘Rajasthani clothes’. See this experience on our Instagram story highlights. Post which the welcome was continued with a garland of fresh marigold flowers and a ‘teeka’.
Check-In & Rooms: The hotel opens up to a big well decorated lobby where we were assisted well with the entire check in process. However, we did get one of the rooms a little late since they were cleaning it up. We went up to see the other available two rooms, which were very spacious and well decorated. My favorite corner in the room had to be the sofa by and the lamp by its side set on the background of a vibrant Orange colored wall, check out this space in the entire photo gallery of the stay. The little luxury detail such as the choice of bed mattress was especially commendable as it was too comfortable and helped me get rid of all that road trip tension in the body. Another pro of the room was a big balcony with a view of the open lawns & swimming pool, I really did enjoy the fresh air and open views.
Amenities & Recreational Activities: The spa here is quite elaborate as it is expected to be, managed very professionally and they provide a variety of options for your appointment. My family did try the services at the spa and they seemed to enjoy it. I skipped the spa since I looked forward to sitting by the poolside chairs & hammock around the lush greens, and reading my book for the journey. I most enjoyed spending evenings playing basketball at the court & also badminton. We also tried a hand at bow & arrow and it was a memorable activity do with our group of family & friends. In the morning near the breakfast venue there were Jewelry & antiques vendors inside the premises, where we had fun shopping for little souvenirs. There is also a bar named as the ‘Madira Bar’ on the first floor where we spent the later part of the evening. The place has an ambient vibe and there’s a pool table set inside too if you’re looking for some play with the drinks. The bar only serves finger food which was quite delicious.
Dining: Unfortunately, the first dining experience at The Le Meridien Jaipur Resort & Spa was not up to the mark. I wasn’t expecting our lunch meal in an empty restaurant to arrive in over an hour & more. We ordered basic Indian food, ‘Dal’, Mixed vegetable, Rice etc which should have been rather prompt. The staff seemed like they were in some kind of a dilemma about the time for preparation of the food, indeed an unusual situation in a luxury hotel. However, for the dinner we did speak to the manager before hand informing him about the unfortunate timings at lunch and then they did pay satisfactory attention to our table, food timing & took a friendly feedback. Fortunately, the breakfast buffet next morning was relatively well organized and we did enjoy a happy morning meal.
Location & Overall Stay: The ride from Le Meridien Resort & Spa to ‘Hawa Mahal’ and the main market for shopping (Johari Bazar Road) did take approximately 50 minutes. I’d suggest you choose this resort if you aren’t planning to travel to the city much during your entire stay since the commute is long. The gardens around the resort are very intricately manicured and maintained by the staff which makes the surroundings very picturesque. Having said that, I have stayed at better luxury properties in Jaipur since it attracts so many tourists from around the world thus, everybody’s services are frequently exercised and polished. This time my experience at the Le Meridien besides certain ups wasn’t all that luxurious & comfortable. The service could also use some improvement and the staff should be rather prompt if you have to live up to the category of a luxury hotel. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy your stay with all the positives of this resort & spa.
